This tree is a somewhat changed copy of FreeBSD 8.2-RELEASE ports/mail/demime/ Which I should compare with any diffs up to & beyond 9.0-RELEASE 2012-01 to whenever it was dumped in attic. It compiles & is in use for both { server mail lists of http://www.berklix.org & also personal mail vial procmail of jhs_ERASE_@berklix.com } on FreeBSD-9.[12]-RELEASE It is automatically restored (via my http://www.berklix.com/~jhs/bin/.csh/customise ) to my ports, repairing the loss when FreeBSD.org annoyingly removed it. with blinkered reason from 2nd URL below: "2011-12-01 mail/demime: No upstream development since 2007" Inadequate reason to remove a port. Software can mature to where no development is needed, It just works. It still works for me! It has helped me reduce the number of clueless subscribers on some lists, who ask to be subscribed & unsubscribed manually, as too clueless to know what HTML is or how to turn it off in mailer. demime also solved the problem of footers not being seen when someone posted HTML + MIME http://www.berklix.org/help/majordomo/#terminal_mime_boundary (my list footers contain unsubscribe tips, & if not seen, again may people on my lists were too clueless to look in headers, that Also contained sub & unsub tips. Demime means subscribers can't post JPG & PDF either, but it saves admin time. URLS to generic Demime via FreeBSD's port https://svnweb.freebsd.org/ports/head/mail/demime/Attic/Makefile (Yes, it runs fine on FreeBSD-8.2 RELEASE /usr/ports/mail/demime , but annoying FreeBSD people deleted it - cos it it was old - but worked ! )
