Subject: No Glitz On Berklix.org Web Site From: Glitz-Requester@ Sender: webmaster@berklix I append FAQ: http://www.berklix.com/~jhs/std/no_glitz.txt See Also: http://mailman.berklix.org/mailman/listinfo http://www.berklix.org/berklix/lists/ http://www.berklix.org/berklix/no_glitz.html Ref. Your Glitz request Summary: Sorry No Time Or Interest ! See http://www.berklix.com/~jhs/berklix/no_glitz.html Some people ask me to add glitz to Berklix, eg forums, flashy tools, ever more help & easy click features etc. The public are addicted to clickey graphic glitz by monopolists promoting closed groups such as Microsoft, Facebook, Twitter, ex toytowngermany_dot_com, etc, so they expect glitz junk, BUT they don't realise: Glitz takes a _Revenue Stream_ to _Pay_ sites to add & maintain. Adding glitz to berklix.org would be a full time but _Unpaid_ job; converting to become another competitor to existing glitzy social sites, usually maintained by unpaid sometimes egotist forum censors, loads of adverts, & paid links direct from ads + hidden profiling, slow & failing scripts, cookies monitoring users, & poor security based on flakey interpreted non compiled code. I have no free time, & no interest to install or maintain glitz. I give masses of free time to running Berklix servers, mail lists & events & web pages, Free for decades. No one pays me. No extra free time to waste installing Glitz that would then waste yet more time to maintain. Please Contribute Your Effort To Berklix Groups: - Review lists on http://mailman.berklix.org/mailman/listinfo - Tell friends http://www.berklix.org has lots of groups. Recruit them. - If friends are too lazy to learn the free robot to subscribe themselves, Help Them. (I can't, I am already far too busy supporting Berklix). All above can be done by Anyone without even being on any organisers list, though event organisers also welcome more organisers for lists. http://www.berklix.org Free Organisations & Clubs I'm a computer systems engineering consultant, & design computer systems engineering for companies, not glitzy flakey web eye candy for public end users. http://www.berklix.com/~jhs/cv/ My Resume - English & German
