 | | Teeth NumberingDentists tooth numbering varies between 2 alternates schemes
in UK & USA, & 1 other in Germany etc, (& 3 more
variants in USA armed forces !) Relevant to eg
Foreigners/ Travelers: People who have teeth fixed
by dentists in different countries etc using different
numbering, & want to understand from old bills, which
tooth was fixed when, how often, eg to decide if now time for
a crown, (also thus useful for self, dentist in the other
country &/or health insurers).Tooth Removal Candidates: Someone who has an
extraction pending. a referal from a dentist to a dental
surgeon, wiki notes how sometimes then, a second numbering
system is added, to reduce chance of wrong tooth removal
under narcosis. Having learnt that, I'd want any referal
paperwork for extraction to additionaly specify tooth in a
2nd system too.Identity Theft: ... eg "distinguishing features"
section in passport etc, if one has had a brace, & lost
teeth from that or other causes, one could list numbers (in
both systems), to make ID theft harder for criminals who
steal ID docs. A UK pasport & dental work done in Germany
      involve 2 different numbering systems.
Detail(English wikipedia & my diagrams below, show from view
of a dentist looking in to mouth, & a person looking in a
mirror, & as seen on an X Ray on dentist's PC;German wikipedia diagram shows from opposite direction,
conceptually owner of a dodgy tooth, fingering it.)

        Association (ADA)) (1968-1996) Numbering:

American Numbers & Letters (Palmer style) &
        Predominant UK of GB

There is another American scheme, Letters &
Numbers (also used additional as a check against false
          extraction instructions from dentists to dental surgeons;
(wikipedia.org example in English lists German 24,
(rather than American 12) for UL4 ! Why ? Do Germans use
          Palmer too ? ).

USA Army, Navy, & Marines use Three more different
        schemes! (Madness IMO !)

All schemes have variants for kids milk teeth. There are more schemes for other mammals &
      paleo-anthropologists.German cost planning:
