Some sites use different dimension orderings for Length
& Breadth, perspectives vary:
- A: More width than depth: { A box stacked against a
wall, & being carried by a person. }
- B: More length than width : { A box stacked in a
truck if loader chooses longest dimension parallel to
vehicle length, to minimise avalanche on braking, rather
than longest parallel to truck width, to minimise side
wall rocking pressure on un-level side slopping roads,
& autobahn oblique ramps between contra flow &
normal sections }

Packaging Tape
- Brown tape (even if tape bought new) if left on
furniture too long makes a horrible mess, so remove from
all furniture, plastic & steel etc straight after
delivery, only leave it on cardboard boxes
- Brown tape I bought around 1990 in UK: needed a few
layers unrolled before it was usable, but worth doing to
rescue 8 rolls I had in stock. It tore easier than newer
tape, annoying when using tape applier tool, so part done
by hand

B&Q Examples
- A packing tape tool I bought around 1990 in
Canterbury still fits tape bought in Munich 2023-08 : 48
mm wide ( x ~ 76 mm inner radius of cardboard reel)
- Packing tape, brown @ 2023-09 one can also buy at
Euro shop, but its too thin & not very sticky. Better
to use proper tape from a DIY shop. But as that would
have needed travel time, I bought some translucent tape
& Gewebe- Reparaturband (ie Gaffer tape) from the the
Euro shop. The gaffer tape is a lot stronger than their
translucent, but not as strong as real gaffer
tape, but good enough to seal up bases of reconstituted
boxes
- If you live in a large block of flats, residents &
shops are always throwing out lots of large boxes, but mostly
they are clueless how to collapse a box, (cutting along the
tape seams), so instead they stamp on the box, leaving it
taking up far too much room in `dumpster' & damaging box
so it needs some repair with gaffer tape.
